charity sponsorship

Hi Guys,

I totally forgot to ask people today, but me and 6 others at Haydon Bridge High school are getting sponsored to get legs waxed for charity (two teachers included!).

Money goes towards the Great North Air Ambulance, and the Tynedale Hospice so both local charities. Usually we raise well over 2 grand as a school.

I would be very grateful if people could sponsor us and i'll be able to collect money etc over the next couple of weekends.

Feel free to either email or reply to this post with a name and an amount.

Thanks in advance,
a very nervous Fergus!
Steve

Re: charity sponsorship

We are already talking the full length of legs, thats quite enough for me! now add a zero onto that 20, and eyebrows will be considered!

keep em coming....

£10 from Peggy and I.

I quite like getting my legs waxed. Take a couple of ibuprofen before hand and remember to exfoliate after.

Peggy (the teaching professional) says you should have a dram or seven beforehand.

Look forward to seeing the pictures

£10 from Hamish & Fiona. A further £30 if you do a large South American Country, then high wire your Musto within 24 hrs.

Very generous of you all, please keep em coming!

Doing a large south American country is very much out of the question im afraid Paul, It carries a tad too much risk for my liking! never mind high wiring the Musto after!

Please save me the storeys of past experiance, ignorance is bliss!

Tomorow's the day!

Re: charity sponsorship

Fergus,

You need to set up an account on www.justgiving.com

Its free and you can email the link to everone and they can add their donations straight away. You can also add pics.

Re: charity sponsorship

Mike - you could of course do a wax of your own for the RNLI.

Re: charity sponsorship

Thanks Mike, i will think of that next time!

The RNLI is a very worthy cause and had it been my choice probably would have come out on top. However practically, getting kids of about 13/14/15/15 to donate to a charity where they will likely see no return on their donation (as they see it) is very difficult indeed. They would rather buy a mars bar and a can of coke than give 1 pound to a worthy cause.

The waxing has been done and was nothing but painful, and as it turns out its not very neat! i have rather a lot of wax still on my legs which i fear my stay there for some time! Perhaps until i get out the acetone! haha

Feel free to keep sponsoring even though it has been done!

Re: charity sponsorship

I was only joking about supporting the lifeboats!

In response to Steve, I am kind of having a chest wax. I have just had some surgery and am having to have a daily dressing change which is nice on my hairy chest...not!
