Dear Tuvaluans,
My name is Wayne Booth, and I live in Penryn, England.
I am a freelance teacher and currently a facilitator for The Ridgeway School 'Junk Band', and I have got a challenge!
In just 7 days; find, learn, practice, live perform and record a video of at least one of your tunes and rhythms from your islands!
I was wondering whether you have any videos, recordings, words to songs, or if you may be able to direct us to a source or contact by which way we could obtain them?
Through your schoolteachers, we would love to get in touch with the young people who play or sing traditional songs from your country, and we wish to send them a copy of our band playing our version of your music!
The Junk Band are part of a 'Green Room' concept in Ridgeway School where they encourage all manner of 'Green' policies to help us help our environment. We are concerned by the effect that global warming is having on the South Pacific Islands, and would love to bring attention to it from here in England.
We hope to raise awareness and much publicity by the Eco-Garden Party where the band will play.
