Morning .... well, the oil you use doesn't have to say "Honda" on it. I've used a variety of oils over the years. In my 94 Wing I used Mobil 1, but often used Honda's HP4 and never had any problems. As for non synthetic, just get a good quality motor oil of the viscosity you want. I'd suggest 20-50 for this time of the year. Choice of oil is one of those things that everyone has an opinion on. There are some specialty oils that are labeled as for motorcycles that you might look for. But, I'd just go by the local auto parts store and pick up a name brand oil and go for it. As to how much, I can't help you there since I've not had a 1000. I'd suggest that you take a look at http://www.woti.org and join that group. It's "Wings On The Internet" discussion list and you can get great info there for just about any bike you have. Good luck. |
