Dear Friends,
See my previous article. The Paragon gearbox has been fixed by Drinkwaard. New steel plates, new brass plates, seals and gaskets etc. All fixed and tested and according to Teus Drinwaard good for another 30 years service. Total costs: Euro 900,- incl VAT.
Fitted the gear again on Saturday October 1st, filled up the oil and started the engine. Hurray, oil pressure again and after some tests we made a day trip. All seems to work well.
The other thing is that I still need to get rid of the intermediate bearing which is fixed against the engine room bulkhead. Could not get the **** thing loose so no I have to wait till this winter when the boat is on the dry, so I can pull out the whole propshaft.
