Thanks for your reply. It is indeed the bearing attached at the rear engine room bulkhead. Like you said, the bearing distance is actually too short and this bearing is not necessary. I will take it out this winter when the boat will be dry stored. I think I will need to replace the stuffing box with a flexible one to absorb the vibrations and swinging of the shaft. Do you have any idea how the bearing should be disassambled???
