Solutions
Hello All, I'm a student at Columbia College Chicago and a resident of the southside. I have a paper I've been working on for the past month on Veterans returning from the war in Iraq. This past week I decided to write about the violence taking place in the city that I love amongst the youth. I want to focus on some active solutions. Regina, To most of us here the solutions are that the justice system start making people who break the law pay for what they do. A 2 year sentence for MURDER ?? Ask these MOMS how many have actually recieved justice for their Murdered children. Cindy, Thank you well said. The violence isn't just in the big cities it is everywhere. I live in a very small town in northern California. In the matter of 2 months a lady was shot and killed in the bank parking lot by her ex-boyfriend he also shot her friend she survived then he committed suicide, then my son was murdered in his own home, another lady was shot by her ex-husband in her own home she survived. We sit in court rooms and watch these SOBs get pampered, they have the right to a speedy trial, they have the right to wave that right. Do our children have the right to a speedy trial HELL NO. There is one case that has been going on here for five years That is cruel and inhuman punishment on a family that has done nothing. Jimmy’s Mom |

I chose to write about this topic for very personal reasons. It my job to be objective and write about the facts but I have to thank you all for sharing your stories and taking the steps needed to change the world one parent/loved one at a time. Thank you for responding to my post. |
