Re: This Week
Cindy, I just want to thank you for remembering our children. Last night was our vigil on the front lawn of the state capitol in Phoenix, Arizona. They had an Honor Guard Presentation, five keynote speakers, a rose lighting ceremony, and a dove release. It was so emotional. As they let the doves go we all made a circle and held hands and the song Fly by Celine Dion was playing. When we turned on our rose lights we read this out loud, "We light this candle and these roses tonight: In memory of our loved ones, In honor of their lives, In hope that a new day will dawn when no lives are lost to violence." And then they played this song, "I Will Light A Candle" that I had never heard and it was so beautiful. And of course we sang "We are the Survivors" (POMC Theme Song). I was thinking of all of you moms and your angels last night. It is just so freaking heart-breaking that we have to go thru this. Wednesday I will be attending another vigil. This one is the Greater Phoenix Million Mom March to support gun safety awareness and gun violence prevention. As you said Cindy we the survivors have to be the voices for our murdered children. Let us be heard! My love and prayers go out to all of you moms. God Bless You all. |
