Re: my teen son murdered, killer free, what now?

I am so sorry for your loss! And that the killer was set free, is this the end, no more possibilities for justice? How does that happen??
But remember, the killer may be walking this earth free, but his time will come and he WILL pay for what he took. I hope sooner than later.
You must be feeling so much anger, I understand.
I hope you find the help you need, I am still searching and trying to deal with the day to day. Our days of trials and court hearings unknown, I only pray they do happen.
I am sorry {hugs}
Micki

Re: my teen son murdered, killer free, what now?

Micki, thank you.
I'm afraid his 'time' will not ever come as he is a repeat offender who is again walking away from a violent murder. He will be given a license to kill again by the district attorney who is handling the case, or rather not handling the case. He has been deemed ''unprosecutable'' and was set free 6 months after the murder was witnessed. We are now on month 8 without my child.
I am looking for resources for families of murdered children. The web site POMC does not have groups in my area. I am in an isolated area and will need resources on the internet. Thank you, ~c

Re: my teen son murdered, killer free, what now?

Join the club of killers being sent free. The legal system we have is far too lazy, and things are too expensive for them to prosecute, because our children are only OUR children, not theirs. Perhaps one day, when one of the district attorneys, or someone in their investigation teams find themselves in our position, things will turn around, as for me, I have seen her killer walking the street twice, and spoken to her once. I am sickened, and feel that Las Vegas has the worst legal system on earth. Taken heart in the fact that, they will ALL pay for the actions they committed on earth, when they are judged in heaven, and just hope your baby and perhaps you get to sit in on that one and take pleasure in the fact they will rot in hell with the rest of these children stealers.

I know how you feel, and I am greatly greatly sorry for your loss. May God be w you this holiday season, and may youfind some happiness.

Re: my teen son murdered, killer free, what now?

Before my daughter Keara was murdered by her boyfriend I worked in the field of domestic violence for over 20 years and unfortunately the legal system seems to take much better care of the perpetrators rather than victims. The man that murdered Keara had a long history of assaults on females and other crimes and he should have been locked up long ago and kept in jail but that didn't happen and Keara is dead. There are no POMC meetings close to where I live either so I'm in the same boat as far as resources go. At least I am fortunate that Keara's murderer is in prison but nothing that happens to him will ever bring her back. I am so sorry that you are going through this.
