Grief share
Hi MOMS, I haven't posted in a very very long time but I always get on and read what you moms write. Next month will be 2 years since my sweet girl Melissa was brutally murdered. Finally we have a trial date set for June 2, 2008. Please know that I am praying for you all. It has been such a difficult road we are all traveling on and one that should not be. A parent should never have to bury their child. Especially for their life being taken by evil people. I wanted to share with you all an organization called Grief Share. We started a group at my church and it is a 13-week session. It really helped me and has brought healing into my life and if you are interested you can go on the site and put in your zip code to see if there is one in your area. I am in New Jersey. The website is www.griefshare.org This is a biblical based organization and is a very relaxing atmosphere where you can share if you want and if you don't want to you don't have to. No pressure. But we became like a family and I have made many friends through it. There is workbook and also you watch a video each week. hello ms.maura,well i am tony's mom-michelle,yes i know grief share very well,i went to a group in texas at second baptist church,it help me a little,i was in there with alot of people who loss husband and wifes,i was the only one who loss a child to murder,but i have the workbook and saw all the film's so yes it was very good to have that help,i still get grief share every morning on my e-mail!i wish you well,and stay strong!!god bless tony's-mom-michelle! |

Michelle, I'm so glad to hear that you went to grief share. The first session we ever had at our church there were 3 others besides myself that lost children. One was suicide, one was a car accident and one was because of sickness. They do have everyone together and for a reason. They suggest not to split up because everyone grieves differently and we can draw something from each other regardless of the loss. After I shared my story so many came up to me to tell me how much it encouraged them to know that even with such a horrible death Melissa died I can still have my faith in God and others encouraged me. That is what I want. Some good to come out of this evil act. What Satan meant for harm God will use for good to help others who are hurting. As much as I miss Melissa and wish so much she was here, I know she is with Jesus and is so happy and at peace as all of our beautiful children are. God Bless, Maura Melissa's Mom |
