A Mother's Day Wish from Heaven
A Mother’s Day Wish From Heaven By Jody Seilheimer Dear Mr. Hallmark, I am writing to you from heaven, and though it must appear a rather strange idea, I see everything from here.I just popped in to visit your store to find a special card of love for my mother as this day for her is hard. There must be some mistake. I thought you had every card you could imagine except I could not find a card from a child who lives in heaven. She is still a mother too no matter where I reside. I had to leave and she understands but oh the tears she’s cried. I thought that if I wrote you that you would come to know that though I live in heaven now I still love my mother so. She talks with me and dreams with me and we still share laughter too. Memories are our way of speaking now, would you see what you can do? My mother carries me in her heart, her tears she hides from sight. She writes poems to honor me, sometimes far into the lonely night. She plants flowers in my garden; and there my living memory dwells. She writes to other grieving parents trying to ease their pain as well. So you see Mr. Hallmark though I no longer live on earth I must find a way to remind her of her wondrous worth She needs to be honored and remembered too Just as the children of earth will do. Thank you Mr. Hallmark, I know you’ll do your best. I have done all that I can do and to you I’ll leave the rest. Find a way to tell her how much she means to me. Until I can do it for myself when she joins me in eternity. |

Oh my, Kim, that is so beautiful and so true for all of us here. Here comes the tears! I know we all miss our kids so much and I'm sorry but Mother's day does really get me down, even more so than his death date. I am going to copy and frame this. Thank you for sharing it with us. Kayt |

Kayt and Lorre, I know how hard Mother's Day is now and have collected a notebook full of poems since Brandon was killed in 2004. I like to share them and help everyone get through the holidays. Lorre, I finished my part of the journal and mailed them to Michelle today. What a wonderful idea that you had and you will be so very touched by the wonderful work that the MOM's have done when it returns to you. Thanks so much. Love, Kim |

Re: A Mother's Day Wish from Heaven
thank you for the wonderful poem. mothers day i know can be a bitter pill to swallow when someone murders your child. how do you celebrate mothers day when your children have been killed? my first mothers day was the worst. i came to work a mess, couldnt stop bawling. i was sent home within minutes. luckily i have had wonderful employers who were completely accomidating. so having walked in your shoes, i know this mothers day will be very hard for most. i just wanted to let everyone know that we are keeping you in our prayers. the poem was so touching. thank you again. love michele |

Re: A Mother's Day Wish from Heaven
Thank You Kim, This wish may have been written by Jody Seilheimer but it was sent to us by all our children and delivered by you. This is an answer to a sign I prayed for. I asked specifically for a card from Terrell on Mother's Day and this is it. Love You My Sisters Stay Strong and Blessed |

Re: A Mother's Day Wish from Heaven
Kim, this is beautiful, and so true. I am always putting poems and letter at Christopher's grave and this will be the one I put for Sunday. My tears are flowing already. My daughter won't be able to come home Sunday. My plans are to spend time with Christopher and plant some new fresh flowers in his flower beds. I can't imagine a more peaceful afternoon. I really get so much peace when I am there and there is nothing I love more than working in flower beds. Well except for baking. I take a song from his CD that was recorded by he and his band just hours before he was murdered. I know he loves to hear it. Actually the band split up after that night because they said that it was just no way to replace Christopher and they just couldn't make it without a lead guitar. I thought this was so sweet, but I told the guys they should go ahead and get someone else and to just know that Christopher would still be a part of them because as they knew I had placed his guitar in with him for him to take. I want to say to all of you that my thoughts and prayers are with you all as we tackle this Mother's Day. I love you all and know that this is one holiday that we know that all of us are feeling the same. God Bless All Of You, Love~ Karren |

Re: A Mother's Day Wish from Heaven
Thank you so much Kim. As mother's day approaches I can feel my skin crawl and tingle without warning. I get so scared of the day. This poem really helps. Also I would like to recommend a book for all to read. It is named "the five people you meet in heaven" authored by mitch albom. it is an easy read, but makes some great connections to who we are and how we are all connected to each other. Love to all, Eric's Ma Onna |

Re: A Mother's Day Wish from Heaven
Ok, im crying again now. This is such a beautiful poem. My last mothers day present from leah is sitting on my piano, next to her urn, with her birthday cupcake. I treasure it more than anything, as it was a book, and she wrote in it to me. Words cannot say how deeply i miss her, and long to hold my baby. |
