guess I'm in the right place
Hello. My name is Amy. I have been reading many of your posts, and am obviously in the right place. It's been quite a few years for me. My daughter was killed by my husband (shot) in his murder-suicide in 1993. Autumn is always a little harder for me than Spring. As I've read several of you write, I suffer from the "aren't you over that by now?" stigma that alot of people seem to want hang on me. I understand that it's THEIR discomfort with my pain - and not knowing what to say - that makes them want to "slap a band-aid" on me, and tell me I should fine. As I said, it's been alot of years for me, so it's easier for me to see they want to help & just don't know how ... but I still get weary from it. Being among people who understand and that I can identify with feels a bit like "home", so I am really glad I stumbled upon you all. I can relate to so much that I have read here, so I hope it's OK if I stick around. Thank you for letting me post here. My thoughts are with all of you, Amy |

Dear Amy, Bless your heart. You are in the right place. And you are familiar with this road. I have found MOMS to be a great place of support and also somewhere like I feel like I can do some good too. sad but true amy, you are in the right place. my situation is similar to yours in that my husband murdered my two sons and then commited suicide. for me it was in 2000. i too just recently stumbled upon this site. i must say that the women here are amazing. i thank god every day for the people here and the support they give. love michele |

Welcome Amy, I'm so sorry you lost your daughter. My son Wesley was stabbed to death July 2004. He was 21. The price of the membership is what brought us all here. I would probably be sedated and drooling on myself in an institution somewhere if I had not found my sister MOMS. Sometimes it seems like people actually think that they mean well when they tell you that you should be over it by now. They are lucky that they don't know for themselves that loosing our children is something that we are never over with. I'm Karen Wes's mom. |
